HOW IT ALL BEGAN
Early Life and Career
Rodolfo Goyone, Jr., professionally known as RoRo Yone, is a hip-hop artist, producer, and visionary originally from the Philippines. Born into poverty, he discovered music as a means of self-expression and resilience. At 15, RoRo relocated to the Washington, DC Metropolitan area, where his passion for music flourished.
In 2005, RoRo released his debut album, Someday, which he sold at his high school cafeteria for $5 each, showcasing his determination and entrepreneurial mindset. The following year, he released Back Again, priced at $10 each, featuring album artwork and photography by Noel Calubaquib, who would later become his business partner. These early projects demonstrated RoRo’s ability to combine creativity with strategy.
Musical Development and Breakthrough
Between 2006 and 2021, RoRo focused on writing songs and producing music for other artists, while honing his skills in production, mixing, and mastering. During this period, he sought to mentor and produce talent but often faced challenges with their lack of professionalism, such as unpreparedness and tardiness. These experiences reinforced RoRo’s belief in the importance of discipline and dedication in achieving success.
In 2020, RoRo achieved a major breakthrough with the release of Make It Bounce, a track that attracted the attention of Christopher Starr, CEO of CSP Music Group. This led to his participation in an artist development program and the release of his professional EP, Bones, in 2021. The EP’s lead single, Make It Bounce, peaked at #7 on the Global Top 150 Independent Airplay Charts within 19 days, marking a pivotal moment in RoRo’s career.
Performances and Recognition
RoRo’s hit Money Everywhere reached #1 on the UK charts, and his co-written track Something About You earned three South Sudanese Music Awards. He has performed on prominent stages worldwide, including Singles in The City of DC, World Top Model 2022, and Flowixm 2024 in Richmond, as well as events in Paris. Notably, he performed for over 200,000 fans in South Sudan alongside Nigerian superstars P-Square and opened for Philippine hip-hop icon Andrew E.
The Dreamers Show
In 2020, RoRo turned down a $500,000 record deal to focus on fostering artistic growth. Partnering with his hypeman, Joseph “Jaboy” De Ramos, he launched The Dreamers Show, a platform designed to provide fair compensation and exposure for artists. This initiative reflects RoRo’s commitment to nurturing talent and creating a supportive community for creatives.
Dash Talents LLC and Flash Models
In October 2021, RoRo co-founded Dash Talents LLC with Noel Calubaquib and Yelena Scheidler. Dash Talents operates as a modern mother agency, offering aspiring models career development and international opportunities. Under RoRo’s leadership, the agency has become a beacon of professionalism and collaboration with top modeling agencies worldwide.
Flash Models, a complementary program, provides a Fast Track Modeling experience that includes professional portfolio creation, agency submissions, and career training. RoRo’s efforts bridge the gap between modeling and pageantry, enabling seamless transitions and unlocking opportunities for emerging talent.
